Rules and Considerations
Please read through our rules to see if our FC is one that suits your style of roleplay!
Rules
🌻 Our conduct rules apply equally to all players - that is anyone who is in the FC or venue in any capacity. This includes officers, trustees, official members of the FC, Wanderers/Travelers and 'guest' characters belonging to those who have agreed to our rules. Should external roleplayers enter the FC and break the rules unknowingly, this should be handled by officers or security as appropriate.
🌻 None of the following excuses are acceptable for rule-breaking:
- "I was only joking"
- "I was in-character"
- "I was drunk"
- "I'm their friend and they don't mind"
- "I didn't know it was against the rules"
- "In my other FC they allow..."
🌻 We are a progressive space, and our stance is that we have zero tolerance on all forms of queerphobia, racism, sexism and other forms of harassment based on protected characteristics. You must not insult another player on the basis of an out-of-character attribute such as race, ethnicity, nationality, class, religion, gender, disability, sexuality, transgender status, age, or body shape. You must not discriminate against other players on the basis of any of these out-of-character attributes and must be aware of unconscious bias. Where something has arisen due to misunderstandings or ignorance, we will provide a caution and discuss the issue with you. Where provocation has occurred on purpose, you will be immediately expelled from all WA-RP spaces. If you wish to play a character that has IC prejudices, you must contact an officer who will discuss with you what this means in the world of Final Fantasy XIV and ensure that IC and OOC considerations are met.
🌻 We support our trans and non-binary members and their right to declare their own gender and that of their characters. You must use a member's role selected pronoun. We understand that it is easy to make honest mistakes in this regard, but refusing to acknowledge a correction or deliberately misgendering another player or their character is not acceptable. If you make a mistake, and are corrected, then accept the correction and move on with minimal fuss.
🌻 Sexual harassment will not be tolerated. We categorise this as the following:
- Repeatedly asking a person to socialise/roleplay when they have indicated they are not interested
- Repeatedly standing or sitting too close to or brushing up against a person's character without their consent in a romantic or sexualised manner
- Sexual comments or innuendo in company that includes people who have expressed they are not comfortable with that
- Sexualising or sexually objectifying another person or roleplayer's character without their consent
- Touching a roleplayer's character in an intimate or sexual way without their consent
🌻 We are an 18+ free company. This is to protect our members and to allow a degree of freedom, especially for those who work in fields where they may have to be sensitive surrounding the age of those they converse with online. If you are under the age of 18, your application will be rejected. We apologise for any inconvenience this causes to younger players, and welcome you to apply once you are over the age of 18.
🌻 OOC: ERP is permitted as long as it is discreet and not in public spaces or /say chat. Please note, however, that this rule will be under review and may be changed at any time depending on the conduct of those on the premises. Please also be mindful that romantic roleplay is really only fascinating for the folks who are taking part in it. Try to keep overly romantic scenes from common spaces. IC: Sex is not permitted by guests or members on the premises. If you get caught IC, expect to get a warning for your behaviour, and with repeat warnings, for your character to suffer consequences. If you are following the OOC rules, no one should be able to catch you. So be smart, keep it in your /tells or /party chat please.
🌻 Be respectful of our ward neighbours. We expect there to be a certain amount of chatter in and around the grounds, but please be mindful that our neighbours may wish for some peace and quiet. Please don’t arrange an orgy on the road outside the FC house or speak loudly about triggering topics outside their front gardens. Do not abuse /yell or /shout outside.
🌻 Final Fantasy XIV's setting includes themes of drugs and addiction, slavery, human sacrifice, racism and prejudice, sex work, violence, robbery, torture, murder and genocide. WA-RP as a whole does not generally pursue these lines for roleplay material as our point of distinction is that we are a community centre and a more relaxed atmosphere. As an FC, we have drawn a line that states you must not make reference to non-consensual sexual acts or any acts with a minor within any of our areas nor actively roleplay out gratuitous violence or gore. We do not allow *anything* that is darker than the presented in-game content. If you are unsure if you're going over the line of what is considered acceptable, then contact an officer who can review your idea with you.
🌻 We do not accept trans fetishist tagged characters (futanari, dickgirl, trap etc.). We do encourage trans characters to join! We ask that all people think about their language carefully, and if they identify and wish to use these terms in private are free to do so but not when using our facilities.
🌻 All players must refrain from out-of-character bullying. Players must not abuse any status they may have in-character in an out-of-character manner. This applies especially to Trustees and members of the Security area.
🌻 WA-RP is mostly a collaborative and not competitive environment; the primary source of conflict derives from the tension between different players' interpersonal relationships on a personal and more mundane level. Even so, sometimes conflict does arise. You should avoid in-character confrontations with other characters where there is out-of-character animosity, or when you are angry out-of-character for any reason. You must not out-of-character intimidate other players when confronting their character. If you have a high intensity, in-your-face encounter with another character, then you should find a way to check in with the player afterwards. If you regularly bully or belittle another character, you must check in periodically with the player.
🌻 You must not grapple or roughly handle other player's character's without their consent.
🌻 All players must remain civil when dealing with Officers, Trustees or DMs who are trying to run events or moderate. You must not argue with DMs over their decisions; if you have a disagreement then you should exit the scene and contact an officer.
🌻 We expect reasonable and appropriate online behaviour from all our members. Breaches of our conduct rules are reportable regardless of where they take place as long as they can be related back to WA-RP. Our code of conduct includes behaviour of all players in online public forums and spaces devoted to WA-RP, but not outside it (aka Chaos RPC etc).
🌻 Relating to the Discord and what is, and isn't expected specifically in this space:
- Treat each other with respect and assume good faith
- All posts should clearly relate to WA-RP, Final Fantasy XIV, roleplaying, or be in one of the spaces dedicated towards something specific away from this
- Use the most appropriate channel or thread.
- Report any breach of the rules to our officers rather than responding yourself.
- No promotion of other venues or free companies (Chaos RPC is the best place for that!)
- Do not criticise other players for their roleplaying
- Do not discuss moderation decisions
- Do not post or discuss accusations in public spaces
- Do not post external streaming links without permission
- NSFW and smut is not allowed on the server
- Don't do stupid shit
🌻 Do not talk about mods in game.
🌻 With regards to screenshots and the use of Anamnesis' data saving functions: You must ask for consent from a player in order to use their character's likeness in screenshots that are posed. You should share this with the roleplayer before posting to the general server in order to gain their consent.
🌻 Due to phobias amongst our members, no pictures and little discussion of the following topics: tonberries.

Roleplay Ethos
- We are lore compliant and so we ask for no WOL/WOD, Scions, or Ascian level characters.
- We ask characters to stick to one job at a time and not multi-class. We operate under the ethos that specialising in one battlecraft job builds more RP than multi-classing. Characters can switch jobs, but they will slowly lose their practice in their previous role over time, and should focus on their new job moving forward. This segment is in place to create a place where your character has a role and can allow themselves to depend on others to create roleplay, rather than remove opportunities from the communal table.
- We ask that characters limit themselves to 2 tradecraft/fieldcraft roles, again in the spirit of collaboration. A character can be a good cook, without being a recognised chef. When selecting crafting/gathering professions, select those that your character would have spent time studying the skills and techniques for. Omniclassing crafter roles is not allowed.
- BLM/WHM/SMN/SCH as jobs are some of the hardest to obtain in lore. We do not outright ban characters with these jobs, but we do ask for a realistic reasoning for them in your application form.
- Tribal/Clan/Traditional characters are welcome however this should take into account what is known in lore. Look up resources for your chosen tribal race if that is what you wish to roleplay so as not to step on other’s toes. Do not play up offensive real world stereotypes. Where information is limited, try to respond with vagueness, or reference only your character's specific family's ways to allow for freedom of interpretation for others and maintain the cohesion of the world.
- Voidsent are banned entirely from Centre premises, and characters who apply as voidsent will not be admitted. This may be reviewed upon the completion of the Endwalker expansion.
- Most of our members characters, even if they have 'advanced' jobs, roleplay out a more relaxed day-to-day RP. Take into account that the Centre is not a place for 'edgy' roleplay and while there may be points of drama or tension at times, most of the RP that takes place at the venue is more slice-of-life in nature. Think crafter/gatherer quests, beast tribes or custom deliveries more than MSQ and job quests.
- Be realistic about character progression and job progression - there's no need to rush anything! If you're a new adventurer, you may want to work with J'lihr, our levemete, who will be more than happy to build leves and hunts to help your character arc.
- Please use grammar and spelling to the best of your ability, and avoid the use of emotes that use asterisks to denote action.
- You get out what you put in. We cannot stress enough that getting involved in the comings and goings of the Centre is the easiest way to feel connected to the FC. Making an active effort to attend events - even ones that you think your character may be a bit out of place in - cements connections with other RPers in the Centre and brings you into the community faster.
- We also welcome people running their own events and developing their personal plots within the Centre so long as it stays within the bounds of lore.
- To fully understand our roleplaying ethos, see our New Roleplayer Guide.
